How to send your bitcoin to Backpage
If you have already bitcoins in your Paxful wallet since you can pay with your Paxful wallet directly on Backpage.
No worries, every question you have has been asked before.
Q. Why did BackPage stop using debit/credit cards and switch to bitcoins?
BackPage lost their ability to accept Visa and Mastercard when a sheriff from Illinois complained directly to Visa and Mastercard.
BackPage chose Bitcoin because bitcoin cannot be taken away from them or stopped by banks or any one person. No one person controls bitcoin. Bitcoin is a technology like email and it is decentralized meaning it cannot be controlled. Any other site that does what BackPage does will have to switch to bitcoin so it is worth learning. This is the future and Paxful makes it as instant and as easy as possible.
Q. How does this work?
Paxful is an open market like Craigslist or Backpage. Vendors list their ads to sell you bitcoin for a certain price and to get payment a certain way.
Once you find deal you like you start a trade with the vendor. You’ll be in a live chat with them and they will tell you how to pay them, then once you pay they release the bitcoins directly from escrow to your Paxful wallet. You can now spend them anywhere.
Q. Are transaction instant or is there a waiting period?
Using bitcoin to pay for something is instant. Buying bitcoint to fund your wallet can take a few minutes to several hours depending on the payment method and if the vendor is online. Paypal and gift cards are instant. Bank and CO-OP credit union cash deposits, Western Union, Moneygram take some time as you must leave your home to their branch and deposit cash. Usually they happen in under 1 hour.
You buy direct from vendors here so once you start a trade, you are in a live chat, the seller is alerted via email and SMS and may come online right away or it could take them some time if they are asleep or half way around the world etc. Once you’re chatting it happens pretty fast.
Q. Can I buy a fraction of a bitcoin?
Yes! You can buy any fraction of bitcoin you want. If an ad on backPage costs $1 then $1 worth of bitcoin will pay for it. Vendors have minimum and maximum limits of bitcoin they are willing to sell you.
For example. A seller may have a minimum of $30 and a maximum of $300. If a single bitcoin costs $300 then you must buy minimum 1/10th of a bitcoin from that seller, $30. Check the RANGE min-max under the offer.
Q. How do I know which is the price and the amount I am getting?
The price of a single bitcoin is set by 5 different exchanges across the world. This is the rate that most merchants will use when you try and spend bitcoin. Here on our marketplace each seller defines their own price which is usually slightly higher than the exchange price because of convenience and speed you are will receive your bitcoin.
Look at the PRICE/RATE of each sellers offer. The lower it is the more bitcoin you get for your dollars/euros/etc… If you want to know the current exchange price check http://bitcoinwisdom.com and compare it to the price of the seller.
Q. Does Paxful sell bitcoins? Can I just link my bank account to you?
No, Paxful does not sell bitcoins. We are a listing and escrow service for sellers to trade on. They list their ads to buy or sell and you or others can deal with them directly.
Q. How fast would I get my bitcoins?
Gift cards, within minutes, PayPal instant, Cash deposit is 1-3 hours. Depending on the payment method receiving bitcoins can be from nearly instant to couple of hours.
Q. What are the fees for buying or selling bitcoin?

The bitcoin address always looks like a very long “password from hell” and the bitcoin amount is a decimal like 0.0356 Once you have this information just paste it into your Paxful Wallet when you send out. It will go to your receving wallet.
Q. Is everyone who takes bitcoin compatible with your wallet?
Yes! The bitcoin in your Paxful wallet can be used anywhere bitcoin is accepted.
Q. Can I spend a fraction of a bitcoin?
Yes! You can send or spend any fraction of a bitcoin down to less than a penny. You can use your Paxful wallet or send to a wallet on your phone.

Q. Where is the bitcoin balance maintained?
When you buy bitcoin it automatically goes to your Paxful wallet. We hold the bitcoins for you but you can send them to your own wallet on your phone or computer anytime. We recommend you install a separate wallet on your phone, send your bitcoins to it from Paxful and then use your phone wallet to spend all your bitcoin. This is more secure for you as you hold and control your own bitcoin.
Q. What is the minimum amount?
It depends on the seller. Look for the min amoutn and the max next to each offer. For example Min $50 – Max $500 means you must pay $50 or more and less than $500.
Q. Why is this so hard? what happened to Visa and Mastercard?
The reason vendors ask for ID and debit and credit cards can;t be used like before is because of scammers and fraud. Many scammers try and buy bitcoin using stolen credit cards, hacked bank accounts and hacked PayPal accounts. This is why vendors must take special care to prove identities for high risk payment methods.
Q. What about sending out bitcoins from my wallet and the bitcoin network miner fees? Who pays and when?
Only the sender pays bitcoin network miner fees. If you send 1 bitcoin to an outside address then they get 1 bitcoin and we deduct the bitcoin network miner fee from your remaining balance. If you only had 1 bitcoin as your balance then it show it as a zero balance but in our system it will actually be in the negative from the bitcoin network miner fee. When you deposit coins again it will go towards the negative balance. This way if you send out 1 bitcoin the receiving party always gets 1 bitcoin. When you send coins within the Paxful network, to another user, there is no mining fee.
